He is the lead contact for a business unit and is involved in defining & implementing IP strategies for projects in the research to post compound patent phases. Before joining Syngenta, Cumaran worked at Infineum & Exxon Chemical in the UK. At Syngenta, Cumaran's exposure to SPC peculiarities have become more intense, particularly in relation to how the decisions under the medicinal SPC Regulation (EC) 469/2009 should apply to SPCs under the plant protection product Regulation (EC) 1610/96.
