Brendan Plessis drives AXA XL’s emerging market strategies. From seeking profitable growth through local partnerships to industry-wide efforts to close the protection gap, he works closely with multilaterals, regulators, governmental stakeholders, NGOs, distribution sources and industry leaders to increase re/insurance penetration and resilience in emerging markets. Internally, he spearheads these efforts bringing together multidisciplinary teams across AXA XL, in the re/insurance and investment segments, to develop innovative re/insurance solutions. Before joining AXA XL, Plessis was a managing director at Guy Carpenter in Singapore and head of multinational and retrocession business for Asia-Pacific.
