Mike Jennings is a patent attorney and heads AA Thornton’s electrical engineering, electronics, telecoms & IT patents department. Before joining AA Thornton, he gained many years of experience as an in-house patent attorney for IBM. Jennings provides strategic IP advice to a wide range of companies in the fields of computing, electrical engineering and instrumentation, including advice on software patentability including modelling, simulation and AI. He handles worldwide invention protection, with particular expertise in EPO oppositions and appeal proceedings, and EPO and UK patent prosecution. He is a member of CIPA’s Computer Technology Committee.
