Frank Sweeney is the CEO and co-founder of the insurtech startup, OnRisk, which is developing a cloud-based risk structuring platform for high-value P&C risk. He was formerly a co-founder, COO and director of CATEX International. Before CATEX, Sweeney worked as a counsel to the governor of New Jersey; legislative counsel to the Energy and Commerce Committee of the US House of Representatives; and policy analyst with Science Applications International Corporation. He is an attorney, and he holds a JD from the Stanford Law School, and an MS from the Stanford Engineering School.

Ruben Levy Benseft was appointed COO of coinScrap in October 2017. He is a natural business enabler. Over eight years he worked on a wide range of projects as senior credit risk analyst with market leaders such as BNP Paribas PF and PayPal. He worked as a business strategic underwriting analyst at Klarna and managed a $10 million risk portfolio, developing or improving credit risk models. His main achievement is the automation of the underwriting process. Levy Benseft holds a master’s in economic, financial and political risk management, and in banking and financial law.

Oscar Barba Seara is a computer engineer and holds master’s degrees in e-commerce and computer engineering. He has more than 10 years of experience as project manager for large corporates such as Coren and Copasa and in the public sector (the County of Galicia in Spain). In addition, he possesses a Scrum Manager certificate and has experience as a researcher for the Independent Technology Center of Galicia. He is currently studying a PhD in data analytics in parallel with his involvement as an entrepreneur in coinScrap.

David Conde started his journey with Txstockdata in 2015. In October 2016, Conde as managing director and his team launched Coinscrap, a fintech, disrupting the financial industry of millennials by making saving simple, entertaining and as easy as spending. Supported by a multidisciplinary team of talented professionals, he is dedicated to bringing innovative changes to the fintech industry. He studied business and administration at the University of Oberta de Cataluña and graduated as one of the first European financial planners in Spain. His last role was head of European operations for a leading managing agent. In 2007 he became UK country manager for a major independent French broker before, in 2010, setting up his own broking business. He began working with Pulse Insurance in 2013 and took over as managing director at the end of 2016.

After five years as a civil engineer in various African and Middle Eastern countries, Guy Leroy worked for 15 years as a loss prevention engineering manager for a large commercial property insurance company. From 2000 to 2010 he participated in the creation of one of the first pan-European online non-life insurers. In 2010 he joined a large insurer to enhance its online business in several countries. He founded Minalea in 2015 to help insurers focus on the services and qualities of their offerings in the sales process.

David Schick is the Group COO for Aspen Insurance Holdings based in London. Before this, he was executive vice president, group strategy and transformation and director of strategic operational excellence for Maybank, one of the largest banks in SE Asia. At Maybank, he was responsible for driving effectiveness and efficiency group-wide, including within the insurance business. Schick also worked with Raiffeisen Bank International where he led and built large-scale businesses and drove transformational efforts. He has also worked at organisations such as Citigroup and Mercer Consulting, driving transformation in over 40 countries worldwide.

Attia began his career with a large technology and management consulting firm, and has continued to work with major global insurance carriers on technology and distribution. He is excited to use his background in insurance and financial technology to apply intelligent design, data and technology to solving the gaps and risks facing the growing on-demand workforce. Attia holds an electrical engineering degree from McGill University, and has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance technology industry.

Before that he was at Direct Line Group for 17 years where he did a variety of pricing-related roles with a brief spell leading their Solvency II technical effort.

Prior to joining WPA, Downing worked across Europe in a wide range of industries and organisation. He strives to keep WPA at the leading edge of technology disruption, by implementing solutions that drive the business forward and deliver a competitive advantage. In 2017 his team won seven insurance industry awards for technology.
